I wanted to give a quick update on the last couple months. First off, I am proud to announce that i finished my Master's degree with distinction at Fresno State this past December. It was a great opportunity to go back to my Alma Mater and work with great faculty and students. I would like to especially thank Dr. Gary Gilroy for being a great mentor, teacher, and colleague. His council and advice has been invaluable for both my Master's degree and preparing for doctoral applications.
 With Dr. Gilroy and family after a concert. (Nov 2013) | I completed my degree in three semesters, and even though I was extremely busy, I felt that I grew as a musician and conductor. Since graduation and the new year, I've been spending time with family and even had a birthday last month. During this time I have also started preparing for auditions and interviews for doctoral conducting programs. I have been contacted by multiple schools, and I'm currently in the middle of the process. The experience has been exciting and educational, and I am sure there will be more announcements about my decisions in the coming months as me and my family weigh our options and decide what is best for everyone involved. |
 I have also been preparing for events as an alumnus of Kappa Kappa Psi, a national honorary band fraternity. I plan on doing some travel this coming month including attending their annual District Leadership Conference where I'll be helping present to members of Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma ways to incorporate the fraternity in their professional resume and job interviews. I believe in leadership development and helping students prepare for the workforce no matter what their major or emphasis. Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma has helped me in my career, and I attribute a lot of my early leadership skills and development to these organizations. I hope to post more updates in the future regarding Kappa Kappa Psi. |  |
